James Gaskets transmission gaskets give Harley-Davidson owners precision-cut seals for the various covers and mating surfaces of the gearbox, preventing oil loss and contamination from the transmission oil circuit. Individual transmission gaskets are essential components in any thorough gearbox service — they should be replaced as a matter of course whenever a cover is removed, rather than re-used and left to develop leaks. James Gaskets produce their transmission gaskets from materials selected for Harley-Davidson gear oil compatibility and the heat exposure generated by an actively shifted gearbox. Their range covers side covers, top covers and inspection plates across the four-speed and five-speed Big Twin gearboxes used from the 1950s through to current models. Iron City Motorcycles, an authorised Harley-Davidson dealer in Leeds, carries James Gaskets transmission gaskets as part of a complete drivetrain sealing inventory.
