Colony gastank mount kits give Harley-Davidson builders the rubber grommets, mounting bolts and brackets required to correctly secure the fuel tank to the frame. A properly mounted tank sits level on the frame with correct rubber isolation, stays stable under vibration and maintains the correct gap between tank and frame that prevents chafing and paint damage. Colony produce their tank mount kits to exact Harley-Davidson specifications, covering the main Big Twin and Sportster mounting configurations with period-correct fasteners and rubber hardware that match original fitment. A tank that moves under vibration will eventually damage the frame paint and may cause fuel line chafing — correct mounting with good rubber grommets prevents both. Iron City Motorcycles, Leeds' authorised Harley-Davidson dealer, carries Colony gastank mount kits as part of a comprehensive tank and fuel system hardware range.
